Something old and something blue:
In effort to save a bit of money, and also to save my eyesight by providing more reading light in the apartment, I bought an old lamp base of the ideal height at Goodwill.
I made a lovely Monday evening of it- I poured a glass of wine and watched a new episode of HOUSE, allthewhile stripping & sanding the lampbase.Next, I painted it a lovely teal, and “shopped” my apartment in search of a good, rarely-used lampshade.
Here is the result.
DIY:
Paint: $10
Lampbase: $7
Shade: Free
I’ve seen lamps similar in look above $200, so on the whole, I’m quite content.
